Our Story
Power of Purple was founded from a deeply personal place.
When Power of Purple was created in the fall of 2024, my twin sister was still courageously battling esophageal cancer. We were living with hope—hope for more time, hope for new
treatments, and hope that together we could help bring greater awareness to a disease that receives far too little attention. Creating this organization gave us something meaningful to focus on during one of the most difficult chapters of our lives. It was born from love, hope, and the belief that together we could make a difference.
On September 25, 2025, my sister lost her battle to esophageal cancer.
As twins, we walked through life side by side, sharing an extraordinary bond that shaped who I am. Watching her face this disease with remarkable resilience, grace, and unwavering courage was both heartbreaking and deeply inspiring. While I miss her every day, I carry her spirit with me in everything I do and in every step of this journey.
Today, Power of Purple is my way of honoring her life and the legacy she left behind. Through this organization, I am committed to raising awareness, advancing critical research, and helping ensure that families facing esophageal and gastric cancer feel supported and never alone. What began as a mission fueled by hope has become one driven by love, remembrance, and the determination to change the future for others.
